What year and discipline are you in?
4th Year BSc. Spec. Mathematics-Computational Science (not an engineer).
Why did you go into engineering?
I'm not in engineering. I chose Math and Computing science because Math is like the language of the universe and defines the boundaries of what can be imagined. Computing science applies this mathematical language in a way that allows me to manifest things I want to build. Sometimes I like to apply mathematical concepts to my dreams and see if I can bend them into something I've never seen before.
What do you want to do as a career?
I want to be a data scientist or work in robotics. To me, exciting problems are what makes a job enjoyable. Since I know absolutely nothing about biology, working on prosthetic arms, anything relating to neurology, would be super cool.
What hobbies have you been working on over COVID?
I've taken up running, trying to work my way up to a marathon. I like to train somewhat equally being sprinting and long-distance. There's nothing quite like that feeling of velocitization when you're running super fast, but it feels like walking. When things open back up, I'd like to continue my powerlifting/weightlifting training. I miss the feeling of holding weights overhead in a power pose; it's addictive.
What is a fun fact/skill about yourself?
I love death metal and playing electric bass guitar. Playing in a band is magical when you've got the right people; it's like speaking to each other with musical notes. When everyone is sharing the same intuition in real-time, composition becomes trivial.
