July 28, 2016 - Day 4: Drive 11 Hours to Pick up a Van.

The clock struck midnight and Jon and I were awakened from our naps. We then packed the truck with a pillow and some food, and went on our way to good ol' Provo, Utah for our van. As Jon drove the way there, I slipped into an uncomfortable sleep.

11 hours later we arrived in Provo, Utah! We were previously told that our van wasn't going to be ready until 5:00 pm. As it was only 11:30 at this point, we decided to call them again to see if the time had changed. They told us that it was ready! Hallelujah! We decided to drop off the truck at Budget, then take a taxi to pick up the van. Reluctantly, Jon pulled into the Budget parking lot, we emptied our stuff from the truck, and went inside to return the truck. Now apparently, Budget is not allowed to take payment from a credit card when the person who owns that card is not there. Originally, we were going to use the University's card for the truck payment since we rented the van from them. But since Budget had their credit card policy, Jon handed over his credit card. Thankfully, we will get fully reimbursed after the trip.

After a quiet taxi ride to the Dodge dealership, we got in our van, and drove off. Not 10 minutes later, I realized one of my cd's were missing! I forgot it in the truck! I reset the GPS, pulled into Budget, and Jon ran inside. He came back out with my cd, and I was blissfully happy again. I popped in the cd, we stopped at Wendy's, and we were on our way back to Sunny San Diego! We arrived back at the hotel around 11:00 pm to the team hard at work. I guess we will see what happens tomorrow. I am just glad I have my van back.
