What year and discipline are you in?
I'm a third-year mechanical engineering co-op student.
Why did you go into engineering?
I went into engineering because I thought that would be the best way for me to make the largest impact on some of the toughest challenges like climate change, food security, or space exploration.
What do you want to do as a career?
Haha, well, I do not know. Some industries that I can see myself working in are space technology, renewable energy, or even designing underwater robotics to map the ocean floor. But I am not closing any doors to other opportunists either.
What hobbies have you been working on over COVID?
I run, read (a lot of nonfiction), build plastic/metal models, game (both online and tabletop), ski, and enjoy a nice Guinness with friends.
What is a fun fact/skill about yourself?
I have run two marathons; I can (sort of) play the trumpet; I'm a german-Canadian dual citizen and want to live and work in Europe for a few years eventually; According to 23andMe, I am genetically ~66% German, 32% Polish, and about 2% of my DNA comes from Neanderthals.
