What year and discipline are you in?
I am in my 3rd year of Mechanical Engineering.
Why did you go into your program?
I went into my program because even as a kid, I used to mess around with my toys, trying to take them apart. Granted, I wasn't always able to put them back together, but I enjoyed it. When high school came around, and I took physics, I fell in love with it. I found physics absolutely fascinating, and I knew I wanted to do something related to physics for my undergrad. I ended up picking mechanical engineering because it involved a lot of the physics I fell in love with back in high school.
What do you want to do as a career?
Initially, when I started my degree, I wanted to do aerospace. But as I learnt more and more over two years, I started developing an interest in biomechanical engineering. I hope to work with prosthetics in the future as a career. I love to help people as best I can, and know I can change somebody's life for the better by giving them a second chance at walking, writing, or anything is very exciting to me.
What are you looking forward to most for when COVID is over?
I can't wait to hang out with my friends again. We haven't partied in forever. I think it's long overdue haha!
What is a fun fact/skill about yourself?
A fun fact about me is that I am a dancer. I do styles such as popping & locking, robotics (not the engineering kind! haha), and a bit of Bollywood. Another fun fact is that I am obsessed with space and love physics. At some point in my life, I want to come back to school for another degree in physics because I don't think I can go without learning more about it.
